Through the series Our Ancestors , LindaRo pays tribute to women and men from our families, whose actions, knowledge and commitment have contributed, each in their own way, to the development of our regions.
Old photographs, mainly from the early 20th century, depicting individuals or families from various backgrounds — agricultural, commercial, educational, political, religious, artistic or other — serve as the starting point for these creations.
Charcoal, combined with encaustic, becomes a sensitive and timeless language. Deployed across various formats, this mixed technique allows for free and expressive form, offering the artist the necessary space to revisit memory, bring forth traces of the past, and inscribe these ancestral presences within a resolutely contemporary approach.
