The series entitled "Hors cadre encadrés" highlights LindaRo's current technique, namely charcoal and encaustic drawing (use of waxes and pigments). Through these works, the artist wishes to pay tribute to significant figures in history who have distinguished themselves through their extraordinary actions. Emblematic figures from the fields of science, literature, art, politics, and others are chosen as sources of inspiration for my creations. The encaustic technique that the artist uses offers impressive finishes and textures that are little known to the general public. By highlighting famous faces, the objective is to arouse the interest and emotion of the spectators, while helping them discover and appreciate this artistic technique.
Camille Claudel (1864–1943)
Through a subtle interplay between realistic portraiture and symbolic ornamentation, this work pays homage to Camille Claudel, a brilliant French sculptor long eclipsed by history. The contrast between the precise charcoal lines and the dreamlike textures of encaustic creates a visual tension between memory and oblivion, freedom and confinement. This piece questions the limits imposed on women artists and places them back at the center of our gaze.
